I am a citizen of the world, because from an early age I met people from all over the world, thanks to the scientific contacts and friends of my father, a biochemistry professor at the University of Tübingen (Germany). Also, from the age of seven, a stay in Canada with the whole family opened my mind a little to the world.
Art and creation are integral parts of my life. Initially, I painted, photographed, and worked with fabric and clay; however, painting has always been my favorite genre.
I had begun medical studies, the second passion of my life, but when I decided to live abroad with my husband, in a diplomatic family, my path changed radically. The first step was Moscow (Russia 1990 – 1993), where our two sons were born. There I was a member of an art friends' circle, who painted together, visited galleries, and discussed masterpieces.
At my birth, nothing suggested that Africa would occupy such an important place in my life. However, my love for this continent was born following the settlement of our young diplomatic family in Lomé (Togo 1993 – 1996), coming from Russia. The open-mindedness and kindness of people towards me, and especially towards our children, particularly touched me. These three years spent in Togo left indelible marks, both through the colors, the encounters with people, and the environment, which shaped my future life and vision. It is also there that I discovered traditional and modern African art.
I spent the next ten years with the family in Bonn (Germany 1996-1999), Oslo (Norway 1999 - 2003) and Berlin (Germany 2003 - 2007), where I was always an active member of creative art and craft associations. During this period, I obtained a diploma in nutrition studies (2003). Since my subsequent settlement in Abuja (Nigeria 2007 - 2012), West Africa has not left me. This was followed respectively by four years in Conakry (Guinea 2015 - 2019), then again in Lomé (Togo 2019 - 2023). These stays were particularly inspiring, on the one hand thanks to daily experiences, on the other, thanks to contacts with local artists and their works. I also took online art technique courses during this period.
Since July 2023, I have been living in Abidjan, alongside my husband, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Côte d'Ivoire. Abidjan, the economic capital and largest city in the country, with its vibrant urban landscape and contrasts, has further stimulated my creativity and productivity. This allowed me to organize an exhibition of my paintings at the German residence in May 2025. Several media outlets covered this event, including an interview in the cultural section of a television channel. I also dedicated myself to interior design by arranging the German residence and the Apostolic Nunciature in Abidjan.
As an artist and in daily life, I remain open to life with its diversity and the opportunities it offers us. I believe in positivity and in my dreams, which I wish to convey through my works. In short, I want to define myself, through my abstract paintings (on canvas only), as the Ambassador of Positivity in a world marked by diversity and adversity.
